Weekend Wrap Up

Happy Tuesday....
Man, the weeks are just flying by.
On Friday we stayed home and I made homemade pizza and garlic knots. Earlier, I had met up with my m for lunch on her break then went and did some shopping for her for an outfit to wear to Atlantic City that night. It was a success. Lol

I ended my night with a big ol' mug of ice cream....#preggo

My boys couldn't quite hang...but that's ok. They're both cute :)

Saturday morning we (Ted) assembled the cube for the baby's room and it's just as cute as I pictured.

My mom came by in the late afternoon and brought the changing pad holder thing for the top of the dresser. My dad made it for my brother when he had his oldest, so it's extremely special to me. As silly as it is being what it is, it's still special to have something made by him for our baby. My mom painted it white to match our dresser.

After we did a few other small things we kind of just chilled for a little bit and then we're deciding where to go for dinner. We decided to go to Applebee's because we'd seen a commercial for their burgers and they looked really good. So the three of us did just that, we all got burgers and they were delicious. After that my mom and I dropped Ted off to get some work done in the baby's room. He shampooed the carpet, and we went to Walmart for a few things.

When I came home, these two were pretending not to like each other...

Sunday morning, mom and I went to church and Ted move the furniture in the baby's room. We are almost done with his room and I just can't wait. Ted met me at my moms house and we took a long walk with Jake. It was so beautiful outside. Then we headed to the outlets to try to find me a dang pair of shoes.
I have been trying to find shoes for what seems like five years and I may not be too far off on that number. I ended up getting a pair of sketchers go walks 3.

I'm not sure if I love them yet. But I'll see.
After shopping we just hung out at my moms and then had dinner once my brother, his wife, and the kids got there.

I really didn't take too many pictures because I was really busy enjoying the weekend and the warm weather.

Here's a peek at what the nursery looks like so far....

His name is written on that little blue chalk board so I covered it up :)

34 weeks yesterday! It's almost baby time!! So excited!!

Weekend Wrap Up

Well, the weekend has come and gone in the blink of an eye.
On Friday we had a random snow storm that dropped like 5 inches of snow on the ground.
It was crazy. I woke up at like 2am to use the bathroom #preggoproblems. I looked out the window and it wasn't doing a darn thing out there.
Then when I woke up it was crazy snowing.
Needless to say, I didn't go anywhere on Friday. Ted had to run out with a friend after work so on his way home, he brought back Mexican food #amen.
Saturday we got up early and I made pancakes. Then we got ready for the Devils game and headed out the door. Our friend turned 30 so a group of us headed to the day game.
We had lots of fun as always. The game was a good one, but unfortunately the Devs lost.

It doesn't matter though because we had so much fun!
On Sunday we kinda hung around and got a few things done. We ordered in Hibachi and watched that silly football game. I'm just SO not a fan of football.
These two snuggled the day away...

The baby had hiccups twice.
I may or may not have showered.
I may or may not had ice cream twice.
All in all it was a good weekend.
And... I found this oldie

Happy Monday Y'all !

Weekend Wrap Up

This weekend was great!
Friday night Ted and I decided to grab a bite out and go to bed early. Exciting right?
On Saturday he had to work overtime, so I spent the whole day shopping with my mom.
Pretty much one of my favorite things to do ever.
We took a ride to the Pottery Barn Kids store and just oogled over every single thing!
I thought I had decided on how I want to decorate our nursery and for good reason.
Here, let me explain...
About 3 years ago I came across a chair at HomeGoods...
This one to be exact (but printed arms, not solid)
So I saw this and wanted to buy it.
I called my mom and asked her what she thought and we both kind of agreed that it was a little too soon since I was like JUST engaged. The print on this chair is special to me for a few reasons...First of all, there is an Austin Healey on it.
Austin Healey's are the cars my dad was passionate about.
It's the red little car I drive.
My mom has one, my brother, all our family friends...
So that car jumped out at me.
Next, the surf board on the wagon.
My hubby is a big surfer....
And last - the VW beetle...
We're a VW family lol - well not me anymore, but I did drive 3 over the last 16 years.
SO -  This was the pattern/color scheme I was going with.
It's Glenna Jean Uptown Traffic.

HOWEVER

As I started to pick up things here and there and look for things, I wasn't finding a whole heck of a lot. But I didn't let that stop me.
Until Saturday.
Pottery Barn Kids is way too persuasive!
So now we are going with this theme....because....OMG....

So what was supposed to just be a walk through PBK - turned in to me registering for all the nursery bedding and all thing baby elephant.

Then we hit up TJMaxx and found so many cute elephant things!
I love the gray and white and I'm thinking of doing a pop of navy or aqua

I think I'm liking the lighter pop of color.
What are your thought!?

Also - we stopped at Babies R Us to check out the Gliders.
I wanted to show my mom the one I liked.
And when I saw it in the store I went in Saturday, the cushion was all smooshy and cruddy looking. So I was disappointed. It didn't look like it held up well.

Then I saw this one, and I loved it

It's also a recliner - and it's super comfy
And I actually think I like it more than the one I thought I liked,
which was this one....
What you ya'll think?
Those of you with little ones chime in here...
This is all new to me!

*
So that was Saturday....
When I got home, I spent like 3 hours on Pinterest and googling all things gray, white, and elephant for the nursery....I just love it!
~

On Sunday... I got up early and went to 8:00 mass with my mama
Then Ted & I were on the hunt for a dresser for the baby's room but had no luck. Any suggestions are welcomed!
We had dinner at my moms with the family and headed home for an early night and watched a little Grease live. But forgive me for being judgmental or what ever it may be, but nothing compares to the original!

A blizzard named Jonas

Lots and lots to catch up on!

I had my check up at my regular OB on Thursday the 14th and was chatting with my doctor and just like that - he put me out of work. So my last day was that Friday - the 15th.

My pregnancy is high risk for a reason beyond my control - something that isn't awful, but can bring me to pre-term labor and will most likely result in me needing to have a C-section.
So my doc said with the added stress from work, he didn't want anything triggering labor.
Fine. With. Me.
So I quickly and I mean QUICKLY got caught up.
Packed my belongings from my office up.
Told my co-workers (whom I'm not close to) the other kinda knew it was coming.
And by 3:30 I was outta there....
Not gonna lie - I teared up a bit... I blame the hormones!
Haha - but it was bittersweet.
A chapter closing, and a new one opening.
So the first week off was so quick.
I was SO busy!

~

My mom lost her cat of 15 years due to dementia. Who the heck knew cats can get that?! It was a rough and heartbreaking week. It hit fast and was just terrible.
Rest Peacefully Pumpkin
We love you

Possibly one of the most unattractive pictures of me - but - this is a cappuccino blast from Baskin Robbins and it was delicious.
#pregnancycravings

Friday night... we hunkered down and prepped for the "snowpocalypse"
This was one of the first snow maps we saw for our area...

The predictions were all over the place.
At one point we were in the 2 feet range.
TWO FEET
But as I write this (Saturday night) it's been snowing since 7pm Friday night.
It sleeted for a bit - but it's back to snowing.

The sleet just made it icy and worse.
We've been under a blizzard warning since yesterday.

It's not going to stop until 2am Sunday.
My mom lost power twice.
Ours flickered a few times. Thank God.
Snow like this isn't fun. It isn't pretty. And it's hard to remove.

All of our beaches and beach towns are flooding.
I'm sure you've seen on the news or weather channel.
It just plain sucks - for lack of better wording.

My poor birds and squirrels were out in the crazy weather looking for food. Their feeders were covered in snow, full, but covered.
So naturally I diced up little pieces of bread and kept throwing it out to them.

Sunday was all about digging out.
It snowed until like 2am this morning.
When we went to bed it was snowing so hard I couldn't believe it.
We woke up to pretty things though.

I whipped up these old school "pizzas" for lunch.
Haven't have English Muffin pizza since I was a kid.
They were delicious! :)

The snow was up to my mid thigh...
My snow coat doesn't fit me at the moment,
and my boots are too short for this depth,
So hubbys hunting stuff came to the rescue.
Poor Jake hates the snow...

This is why nothing fits ;)
That boy is growing day by day...
I just scooped up this maternity shirt from Target & it's so comfy

In the mean time, this one has been snuggling all weekend long...
She's just so cute...

So that is basically how my weekend was spent.
I'm looking forward to this week home to get more organized.
I've been slowly but surely getting organized each day.
My goal is to start February with a clean slate.
Here's hoping.

Happy Monday!

Monday Monday & a Winner!

I hate Mondays! It just seems to take so much effort to get motivated!
This weekend was uneventful.
Friday night we had to stop by my cousins house for her twin girls birthday.
Before that we hit up our favorite local spot for dinner.
I had a margarita bar pie and a salad and ate every single bit.

Saturday we had a house showing and then pretty much hung out.
I ran a few errands and then we watched the Devils kick the Penguins butt!!
My new favorite player is Bobby Farnham!
And since I already have a #23 jersey from David Clarkson (boo)
I'm going to get his name on it! WooHoo win win

I saw this and LOVED it!
It's such a good message.
And the 80's song from the movie Summer School is also good!
Haha

So I went to the food store on Sunday after church and helping mom and was about to buy a pint of Ben & Jerry's because they were on sale for $2.88 which for that is CHEAP!
But I saw these.... and they were 4 for $5 so I scooped up 4 and my gosh, they are delicious!

Can you tell I'm pregnant?! Hahah

Oh the things that excite me these days....

And last but not least on this boorific Monday morning....
The winner of the Starbucks gift cards is:

Congratulations Kim F!

You have 48 hours to e-mail me back with your address & claim your prize!!

Have a great week everyone!
