What were eating this week...

Saturday night my mom watched Austin so Ted & I could grab some dinner together. We went to one of our favorite places and I got the best salad...

On Sunday we celebrated my Moms birthday and went up to the boardwalk for a slice of pizza and a waffle sundae. 

Maruca's Pizza is quite possibly the best pizza in the world. It's just so dang good!

I mean. Everything about it is so delicious. If you're local or visiting - get a slice. Or a pie. Or two. 

We also had these amazing waffle and ice cream sandwiches. Oh. My. Gah.

Monday I made grilled chicken, broccoli and brown rice - boring, but necessary lol

And Tuesday we had burgers at my moms and ice cream cake to celebrate moms birthday with the whole family!

What I'm reminiscing about...

Actually I've been thinking about when I first met Ted and I had a conversation with my best friend about when we first met and started talking to our husbands. We both said that their voices sounded different than they do now, which they do not, it's just familiar now and was new then. 

What I'm loving...

My mom being off for the summer. AND being a stay at home mama. The combo is awesome. I love being home with my boy all day and I love spending these summer days with my mom and Austin. We take walks and go shopping. It's just exactly where I've always wanted my life to be. 

What we've been up to...

Lots of nothing! Well - actually, lots of fun stuff. Pool, walks, playing, shopping, baking, biking (when gramma watches Austin) watching movies and just plain enjoying our time. 

What I'm dreading...

Driving to Philly next Friday BUT the reason is awesome!! Amanda from Texas is coming to visit!! But having to drive to Philly on a Friday in the summer at 4:00 is gonna be craaazy!! But it will be totally worth it to see my bff!!! 

What I'm working on...

Lots of crafty projects.

Amanda's visit. It's been a year since I saw her. I'm so excited! AND. My cousin Mark is coming from north PA to visit when she's here too. So it's gonna be so fun hanging out with everyone!!

Watching lots of Fixer Upper...

 I love me some Chip and JoJo! 

Also, Home Free on Fox on Thursdays. 

My cousin is a contestant! 

We just watched the movie The Martian and LOVED it. I also just watched Riding In Cars With Boys and enjoyed that.

Each year in July 4th we go down to the Yacht Club down the street from my moms and watch the fireworks with the neighborhood. It's fun 

This year will be the same except with a blind dog and baby so we'll see how long we last!

Going in to labor early. I know it's not typical but - it's my first pregnancy and it's a fear of mine... Other than that just generally not being prepared when the baby comes. Although, I have lists and lists and am so organized. So we will see.

Getting everything ready for the baby. Trying to accept STILL being in this house that we both hate. 

Going through all my lists and checking things off slowly but surely 

What I'm excited about

Becoming a mom!!!!!!

And seeing Ted become a daddy!!

Reading Southern Living magazines and pregnancy books.

Nothing for once. So that means I'm probably going to shop with my mom, shampoo the carpet in the baby's room and continue to organize!!

Nothing. Besides not working and prepping for baby that's all. And that's enough trust me!

Picture this: 20° - 8 months pregnant - bribing a dog into my back seat whole cars are all stopped around me.

What we're eating

On Sunday night we went to Houlihan's with my family...

I had soup and a salad

 

 

Monday we had friends over because my friends hubby helped mine fix our heat

So we ordered pizza and salad and they had beers & wine while I drank juice :)

Tuesday we had tacos

Tonight we're winging it because it's busy tomorrow!!

Thursday....THANKSGIVING!! Yay!

Lately I've been reminiscing about when Ted & I first met.

How we got together, and how I knew I had a thing for him before we even started dating.

On Monday, we were all talking about when Ted & I starting hanging out and all the crazy fun and funny stories that accompany those memories.

 

This was pretty much the first few months of us hanging out...

First summer together :)

I can't stand working in a school sometimes.

People send their extremely sick kids to school...

Teachers come to school sick....

It aggravates me SO much.

 

 

STAY HOME!!!!

For someone who can't take medicine IF they get sick, I personally encourage people do stay the heck home and get well before bringing all your gross germs to work/school!!!

 

 

What I'm working on

I'm working on staying calm.

 

 

I've had some blood pressure issues throughout my pregnancy so far, so it's making me a bit nervous... I'm a worrier as it is, so I'm trying hard.

I'm also working on accepting the fact that we might not move before the baby comes.

And I'm working on getting Christmas shopping done!!

Becoming a mom!!!!!!

Reading Southern Living magazines and pregnancy books.

Watching all the Christmas movies on Hallmark!

Honestly? Nothing.

It's literally the same stuff... After Christmas we're going to start the babys room so that is exciting, but until then... it's business as usual.

Say a prayer that the couple who looked at our house last Saturday and "loved" it  make a move and want to buy it!

Bonus Question

My Favorite Christmas Tradition:

Going to church on Christmas Eve with my dad's side of the family then going to my moms for dinner. We've been doing this for as long as I can remember. It was always so special to spend that night with family. And now that my dad is my angel in heaven, and we've continued the tradition, it's even more special.

Another would be my moms breakfast on Christmas morning. Absolutely nothing beats her chocolate chip pancakes and bacon!

Since I'm doing my fall swap recap on Wednesday,
I did the WUW today (Tuesday) !

 

 

1. What we're eating this week...

I made Pioneer Woman's Salsbury Steak

We had sliders and potato pancakes last week

I made stew - recipe on the 30th!

We went out a few times

Went to Chipotle for a fundraiser

And did what I think will be the last of the grilling for this year...


2. What I'm reminiscing about...

What I always reminisce about - Our honeymoon in Aruba.

I wish we would have gone back one more time before getting pregnant...

We'll get there eventually.

 

3. What I'm loving...
The fact that I have 76 days until I don't have to work anymore!

 

4. What we've been up to...
We've been pretty busy lately. Lots of parties, little get togethers, still having house showings, got a new cell phone, went to a few Devils games, shopping, fall things...you know

5. What I'm dreading...
I'm not really "dreading" anything... but I have a love/hate relationship with the cold weather. I love being warm and toasty by the fire inside watching a movie while snow is falling, but I hate having to bundle up to go out in slushy yucky freezing weather.
So I guess I'm kinda of "not looking forward" to freezing winter. 

 

6. What I'm working on...
Preparing myself to be a mom.
Apparently I have to start getting ready for all of this....
I just don't know where to start.

7. What I'm excited about...
Going to see the Devils tonight!

I don't have much just yet so I'm repeating outfits and mixing them up a bit.
It's exciting, really.
 

11. What I'm doing this weekend...
Going to our towns annual Halloween Parade!
I'm so excited to go, we go every year with a big group and it's so much fun!

12. What I'm looking forward to next month...

We have a week off from work....and I have lots of plans!

We may be going to the Hershey Chocolate Factory too!
Also, Thanksgiving and then immediately after,
decorating for Christmas and ALL things Christmas!

 

13. What else is new...
Aside from being pregnant, not much. I believe that in itself is quite a lot.

Question of the month is:What is your favorite Thanksgiving Recipe?
Hands down, my moms home-made stuffing.
She makes it all from scratch.
There's sausage, cranberries and apples among all the other deliciousness!
I could eat just that!
